Stampin' Up!'s 21 New Colors Will Knock Your Socks Off!
Stampin' Up! has brought us 21 new colors this month, and I think they'll knock your socks off! They did mine, anyway. Today I thought I'd give you a little tour. Here's a sample card to whet your appetite, which shows off Blueberry Bushel, Coastal Cabana, layered with Bermuda Bay. How yummy is that?!
You may remember that Stampin' Up! retired 13 colors from the core Collections last month, which allowed them to revamp the entire color palette. Let's look at the new colors one Collection at a time.Click on the photos to see a larger view.
2018-2020 In Colors: If you like bright, saturated colors, you'll love this set of new In Colors. I'm more of a Regals and Subtles kind of gal, and was especially drawn to Grapefruit Grove. But as I was making card samples of all the new colors for a Color Class I'm working on, I found myself enjoying these brights.
From left to right: Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover, and Blueberry Bushel.
As usual, Stampin' Up! offers assortments to help you get started with this year's new In Colors: 8-1/2″ x 11″ Cardstock Assortment contains 4 sheets of each color for $8.50. The set of 5 Stampin' Write Markers is $15. And you'll save 10% when you purchase the set of 5 In Color Ink Pads.
The Regals Collection gained two new Colors: Blackberry Bliss, a returning In Color, and Shaded Spruce. Blackberry Bliss is so dark, it looks like dark brown in the photo. But it's a very rich berry color that was well loved back in 2014 and 2015.
Shaded Spruce is a lovely green with a lot of blue in it, but not enough to call it teal. I think you'll be seeing a lot of this on my cards.
The Neutrals Collection gained three colors. Stampin' Up! made room for them by moving Whisper White, Very Vanilla, and Basic Black into their own category called Basics. They also decided to follow the trend in the interior design world, which has been using some colors as neutrals.
Merry Merlot is a lovely wine color, not as dark and muddy as the old Bravo Burgundy. Gray Granite is a light gray which is less blue than Smoky Slate, so adds more variety in the gray department. Mossy Meadow was an In Color at the same time as Blackberry Bliss, and is a richer and brighter substitute for the retired Always Artichoke.
The Brights Collection gained six new colors. Three of them are returning In Colors: Flirty Flamingo from the most recent retired set, and Poppy Parade, the very dark red-orange that adds quite a pop to a project. Also returning is Coastal Cabana, a luscious light blue green from 2013, which goes with Bermuda Bay like chocolate on strawberries! Very sweet.
New Brights are (left to right) Gorgeous Grape, a very bright purple; Granny Apple Green, a very bright green with a lot of yellow; and Mango Melody, a rich yellow-orange.
The Subtles Collection picked up five new colors. If you like pastels, you'll love these new choices. The only returning color is Mint Macaron (on the bottom) from 2015. This is a soft green with a fair amount of blue in it, and combines with green-blues quite nicely.
The new colors (left to right): Soft Sea Foam (goes great with Mint Macaron), Balmy Blue, Highland Heather (a pastel version of Gorgeous Grape), and Petal Pink, which has a hint of coral in it, setting it apart from our other pinks.
I'm working on videos to show you more about the colors: How they compare to past and present colors, their properties, and what they combine well with. I've made 21 sample cards to show off each color, and am excited to share them with you when I'm finished. Meanwhile this little tour will have to do!
Stampin' Up! has created some Bundles to help you get started with the new colors (In Colors sold separately). My favorite is the New Color Assortment Cardstock, two sheets of each new color for $14. New Color Assortment of Stampin' Write Markers is $48. And you get 10% off when you order the New Color Assortment of Classic Stampin' Ink Pads.
Get ready to play with the 21 new colors from Stampin' Up!, which are so awesome, they'll knock your socks off!
